A Question about neck shaping

Hey everyone,
I'm getting to the point where I will be doing the neck shaping on the sweater, and I have a question for those who have finished. Where does the steek actually go? Is it in the middle of the neckline stitches I'm holding on the stitch holders or is it to one side? Thanks for the help.

Hi Jess

When you put your stitches on the holder for the neckline - you knit across to where those stitches on the holder are -- you sort of move them out of the way - I like to pull them toward me so I an see them - cast on your neckline steek sts, and continue knitting on the other side of the neck -- so it works out that the steek runs right up the middle of the neckline - it's not to either side - but it might feel that way when you initially set it up. The sts on a holder (I prefer just a spare piece of yarn so that they aren't firm like when on a holder) just pouch out and it looks really wierd, but when you cut the neckline open, voila!

So all 29 neckline stitches go on the holder, then the steek, then continue knitting, that makes sense. Thanks, Anne.
